Viaduct Surveyor – Bridges in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is a Civil Engineering opportunity for an experienced surveying professional. The role focuses on viaduct alignment, segment precast yard surveying, bridge geometry control, pile and pier positioning, as‑built verification, and major infrastructure construction workflows.

Responsibilities
  • Perform survey setting out for viaduct works, bridge construction activities, and segment precast yard operations.
  • Verify horizontal and vertical alignment, elevations, grades, slopes, levels, and coordinates against approved drawings and project specifications.
  • Review and analyze geometry control arrangements for balanced cantilever segments, twin segments, station segments, transition segments, and related precast elements.
  • Ensure accurate positioning of piles, pile caps, piers, bearing plinths, span erection points, and other structural interfaces in line with alignment drawings.
  • Review survey data, shop drawings, field measurements, as‑built records, and construction layouts to confirm compliance with design intent.
  • Review method statements related to geometry control, viaduct alignment, segment casting, survey procedures, and field verification.
  • Assist civil engineers and Assistant Resident Engineers in checking contractor works against approved specifications, tolerances, and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with civil, QA/QC, field engineering, and construction teams to align survey data with quality and construction needs.
  • Work daily with contractors, survey teams, and project engineers to ensure survey activities support planned construction schedules.
  • Participate in site meetings, technical discussions, progress reviews, and coordination sessions related to survey and viaduct works.
  • Communicate survey findings, deviations, non‑compliance issues, and corrective recommendations clearly to relevant project stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate field notes, alignment checks, setting‑out records, survey registers, as‑built data, and measurement documentation.
  • Prepare daily and weekly survey reports covering layout checks, field measurements, deviations, corrective actions, and construction progress.
  • Verify contractor adherence to approved survey control, construction layouts, alignment requirements, and project documentation standards.
  • Support inspections and audits by QA/QC teams, project consultants, and regulatory authorities when survey records are required.
  • Identify potential hazards during survey operations and follow approved HSE procedures for construction site activities.
  • Promote consistent application of survey accuracy, field discipline, documentation control, and safe working practices across survey teams.
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Diploma in Civil Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of surveying experience on large‑scale civil infrastructure projects.
  • Strong experience in roads, bridges, viaducts, utilities, and major construction survey activities.
  • Practical knowledge of viaduct surveying, segment precast yard control, bridge alignment, grading, elevation checks, and utility layout verification.
  • Proficiency with total stations, GPS equipment, survey instruments, and surveying software.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, alignment drawings, shop drawings, specifications, method statements, and as‑built documentation.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil3D or similar survey design and drafting software.
  • Certification in surveying or construction QA/QC practices is an advantage.
  • Good understanding of construction tolerances, geometry control, HSE requirements, and project documentation procedures.
  • Strong reporting, coordination, and problem‑solving skills for active infrastructure site conditions.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English with the ability to communicate survey issues clearly to engineers and contractors.
