Job summary

Arootah is seeking a Trading & Operations Manager to join its growing team in the UAE. The role covers execution and support of daily trading across client portfolios and overseeing multiple investment vehicles, including SMAs.

The position requires deep knowledge of the trade lifecycle, equity trading, and working with custodians and prime brokers. It offers a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with opportunities to influence strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in trading operations or related fields.
• Experience with asset management, hedge funds, or investment advisory firms.
• Experience supporting institutional investment products or SMAs.
• Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle, cash management, and operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee investment operations for multiple investment vehicles, including separately managed accounts (SMAs)
• Manage trade settlement, cash movements, account activity, and portfolio rebalancing
• Coordinate with custodians, brokers, counterparties, and external service providers
• Support operational due diligence requests and investor reporting initiatives
• Monitor operational controls and identify opportunities to improve workflows and scalability
• Partner closely with senior leadership on strategic initiatives and process enhancements

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in trading operations, investment operations, middle office, or related functions
• Experience in asset management, hedge funds, family offices, or investment advisory firms
• Experience supporting institutional investment products and/or separately managed accounts
• Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle, investment operations, and cash management
• Equity trading experience required
• Experience working with custodians, prime brokers, and investment service providers
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
• Strong communication and relationship management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting hedge funds and separately managed account platforms
• Familiarity with order management and portfolio management systems
• Experience participating in operational due diligence (ODD) meetings or institutional investor requests
• Desire to grow into a broader leadership role
