Job summary

ABB Industries (L.L.C.) in Dubai seeks an experienced LC specialist to manage end-to-end processing of Letter of Credit transactions. You will ensure documentation accuracy, adherence to UCP 600, and proper banking coordination.

You will maintain LC records, review terms, and resolve discrepancies, while working with finance teams, banks, and internal stakeholders to mitigate risks and ensure timely settlements. Onsite role within Electrification in UAE.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Banking, Business Administration, Economics.
• Master degree is a bonus.
• Professional certification in Documentary Credits or International Banking is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Process LC issuance, amendments, and negotiation documents with banks.
• Update LC tracker and maintain accurate transaction records.
• Custody and safekeeping of original LC documents.
• Review LC submission documents and terms to identify discrepancies.

Join us and help run what runs the world.This position reports to:Finance Manager__Your role and responsibilitiesThe position is responsible for supporting the end-to-end processing and administration of Letter of Credit (LC) transactions, ensuring that all trade finance activities are accurately recorded, properly documented, and completed in accordance with banking requirements, LC terms and conditions, UCP 600 rules, and internal procedures.The work model for the role is: OnsiteThis role is contributing to the Electrification in UAE.You will be mainly accountable for:The role is essential to ensure effective coordination between the Business, banks, and internal stakeholders and to minimize operational, financial, and compliance risks associated with LC transactions. Key responsibilities and their business justification are as follows:Receiving original LC issuance, amendment, and negotiation documents from banks ensures that critical trade finance documentation is properly controlled and available for processing and reference.Updating the LC tracker and maintaining accurate transaction records provides visibility over the status of each LC, supports timely follow-up, and ensures proper audit trails and document traceability.Proper custody and safekeeping of original LC documents is necessary to protect important trade documents from loss, unauthorized access, or misplacement and to support future reference, audit, and settlement requirements.Reviewing LC submission documents and interpreting the applicable terms and conditions helps identify documentation requirements, critical dates, and potential discrepancies before documents are submitted to the bank.Preparing, arranging, and verifying documents against the LC terms and required document list helps ensure that submissions are complete and accurate, reducing the risk of discrepancies, rejection, delays, or potential financial exposure.The role requires detailed knowledge and application of LC terms, UCP 600 rules, and customer-specific requirements to ensure that trade documents are processed in accordance with applicable international trade finance standards and banking practices.Following up on document acceptance, discrepancies, and bank queries ensures timely resolution of issues and supports the smooth completion of LC transactions. Effective coordination also reduces processing delays and facilitates timely responses to banks, customers and internal stakeholders.Preparing LC discounting requests in accordance with Business instructions and approvals supports timely access to trade-related financing and ensures that requests submitted to the bank are complete, accurate, and appropriately authorized.Qualifications for the roleEducationbachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Banking, Business Administration, Economics. Master degree is a bonusProfessional certification in Documentary Credits, or International Banking is an advantage.5–7 years of relevant experience in Letter of Credit handling, trade finance, documentary credits, and international banking operations.Hands-on experience with LC issuance, advising, amendments, confirmation, document presentation, examination, negotiation, discrepancy management, and settlement.Strong attention to detail and document-review skills.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation abilities.Effective stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate with banks, customers, internal business and finance teams.Ability to manage multiple LCs, deadlines, amendments, discrepancies, and high-volume transactions while maintaining accuracy and compliance.Strong understanding of risk controls, compliance requirements, and internal financial procedures.Preferably having receivable collection experience and SAP user knowledgeWhat's in it for you?We empower you to take initiative, challenge ideas, and lead with confidence.
