Job summary

ABB in the UAE is seeking an experienced LC Specialist to support end-to-end processing of Letter of Credit transactions, ensuring accurate recording and documentation in line with UCP 600 and internal procedures. The role is onsite and contributes to Electrification in UAE.

You will manage LC issuance, amendments, negotiation, and document presentation, while maintaining trackers, ensuring audit trails, and coordinating with banks and internal teams to resolve discrepancies promptly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, banking, business administration or economics; Master degree is a bonus.
• 5–7 years of LC handling, trade finance, documentary credits, and international banking operations.
• Hands-on experience with LC issuance, advising, amendments, confirmation, document presentation, examination, negotiation, discrepancy management, and settlement.
• Strong attention to detail and document-review skills.
• Effective stakeholder management and communication with banks, customers and internal teams.
• Possess knowledge of risk controls and internal financial procedures, SAP familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Receive LC issuance, amendment, and negotiation documents from banks and ensure proper control and reference.
• Update the LC tracker and maintain accurate transaction records for audit trails.
• Safekeeping of original LC documents to prevent loss or misplacement.
• Review LC submission documents and interpret terms to identify requirements and dates.
• Prepare and verify documents against LC terms to minimize discrepancies and delays.
• Follow up on document acceptance, discrepancies, and bank queries to ensure timely resolution.
• Prepare LC discounting requests in line with business instructions and approvals.
