Job summary

ABB in Dubai is seeking an LC specialist to support end-to-end processing of letters of credit, ensuring accurate recording, documentation, and banking compliance under UCP 600.

The role requires coordinating with banks, internal teams, and customers, tracking LC issuance, amendments, and settlements, while maintaining strong controls and audit trails.

Onsite work model in UAE, with exposure to trade finance operations and risk management, contributing to ABB's Electrification in UAE.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, banking, business administration or economics.
• Master’s degree is a bonus.
• 5–7 years of LC handling, trade finance, and international banking operations.
• Hands-on LC issuance, amendments, negotiation, and settlement experience.
• Strong attention to detail and reconciliation abilities.
• Effective stakeholder management and communication with banks and customers.
• Preferably SAP user experience.

Responsibilities

• Receive LC issuance, amendment, and negotiation documents from banks.
• Update LC tracker and maintain accurate transaction records.
• Safekeeping of original LC documents for audit and reference.
• Review LC submission documents and interpret terms and conditions.
• Prepare and verify documents against LC terms to reduce discrepancies.
• Apply LC terms, UCP 600 rules, and customer requirements for processing.
• Follow up on document acceptance, discrepancies, and bank queries.
• Prepare LC discounting requests in line with business approvals.
