Job summary

Xpertfirst International FZ -LLC is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to perform testing, energization, and commissioning of HV/LV systems during planned outage campaigns. The role requires hands-on expertise with switchgear, transformers, and protective relays, plus the ability to read SLDs and coordinate with site teams.

Immediate availability is required; candidates with 5–10 years of outage experience and UAE/GCC site exposure will be preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• 5–10 years of outage/shutdown testing & commissioning experience on switchgear, transformers, and protective relays.
• Hands-on energization and outage execution experience.
• UAE/GCC site experience is a strong advantage.

Job description

Perform electrical testing & commissioning activities on HV/LV systems during planned outage maintenance campaigns. Carry out functional testing, energization, and troubleshooting on motors, generators, and switchgear (SWGR) — both HV and LV. Test and commission power transformers and protective relays .Conduct insulation resistance, continuity, and functional checks on main LV panels and distribution boards. Diagnose and resolve electrical faults on control, protection, and power systems. Read and follow single-line diagrams (SLD) and wiring diagrams to execute outage work scope accurately. Coordinate with mechanical, I&C, and site supervision teams to ensure work is completed within outage windows. Prepare and complete test reports and punch lists. Ensure strict compliance with site HSE procedures and permit-to-work (PTW) systems during live outage operations. Support pre-outage planning, spares verification, and post-outage system re-energization.

This is a short-term contract position tied to a scheduled outage maintenance campaign; the assignment duration will follow the outage schedule. Immediate availability required — only candidates who can join on short notice will be considered.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification. Minimum 5–10 years of experience in outage/shutdown maintenance, specifically in testing & commissioning of switchgear, power transformers, and protective relays. Strong hands‑on experience in energization and outage execution. Prior experience in large‑scale industrial projects (power generation, oil & gas, or nuclear) preferred. UAE/GCC site experience is a strong advantage. Good teamwork, coordination skills, and ability to work within strict outage schedules.
