Job summary

GI Corp in Dubai seeks an experienced Transformer & Reactor Testing & Commissioning Engineer (HV) for an on-site role. You will support installation, testing and commissioning of equipment at site, coordinating with local utilities and ensuring compliance with UAE standards.

The role requires 3+ years in HV transmission, with hands-on experience of transformers and reactors, and driving license preferred for site access.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 3+ years of experience in HV transmission.
• Experience in installation, testing and commissioning of power transformers and reactors.
• Knowledge of local utilities standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist installation, testing and commissioning of power transformers and reactors at site.
• Test and commission substations (132kV & 220kV) as required.
• Provide technical supervision and on-site coordination of electrical projects.
• Coordinate with local utility organizations to meet customer requirements.
• Ensure execution of projects per latest local utility standards.
• Order materials and verify site availability before work starts.
• Supervise site technicians and report to the Project Manager daily.

Job Responsibilities

• Support installation, testing and commissioning of power transformers and reactors at site
• Testing and commissioning of transmission substations (132kV & 220kV)
• Technical supervision and site coordination of electrical projects.
• Liaise with local utility organization in view of the customer requirements.
• Execution of the projects as per the latest local utility standards.
• Order the material requirements & check the availability for the same at site prior to every work start.
• Supervise site technicians and ensure adherence to schedule.
• Report to Project Manager on daily basis.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• 3+ years of experience in HV transmission
• Experience in installation, testing and commissioning of power transformers and reactors
• Knowledge of the latest international standards and specifications of local utilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with UAE local utilities is an added advantage
• UAE Driving License is an added advantage.
