Job summary

Hatch and Hire Staffing Solutions FZE in Dubai seeks an experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineer responsible for testing and commissioning of switchgear, GIS, AIS up to 33kV, transformers, and substation equipment, plus preparing FAT/SAT docs and test reports.

The role requires GCC experience and proven hands-on work with major manufacturers like Siemens, ABB, Schneider Electric, GE, and SEL; willingness to travel to site locations and collaborate with clients, consultants, and project

Qualifications

• 2-8 years hands-on experience in testing, commissioning, and maintenance of substations/power plants.
• GCC experience is mandatory.
• Proven experience with major manufacturers (Siemens, ABB, Schneider Electric, GE, SEL).

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and commissioning of switchgears, GIS, AIS up to 33kV including CB, CT, VT.
• Perform testing commissioning of power transformers and DC chargers in substations.
• Prepare detailed testing and preventive maintenance schedules and associated FAT/SAT documents.
• Submit technical reports and drawings review; interpret SLDs and schematics.
• Provide technical support during project execution and design review meetings.
• Follow IEC/IEEE standards and HSE requirements.

Job Description

• Perform testing commissioning of switchgears, GIS, AIS up to 33kV including CB, CT, VT etc and other substation equipment and panels
• Perform testing commissioning of power transformers up to and DC chargers in substations
• Perform earth testing including substation grid earthing measurement
• Execute maintenance testing of substation electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgears, circuit breakers, CTs, VTs and protection systems
• Prepare detailed testing and preventive maintenance schedules for protection systems and substation equipment
• Prepare method statements, testing procedures, FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), SAT (Site Acceptance Test) documents and test reports for client approval
• Ensure accurate and timely submission of technical documentation and reports as per project requirements
• Interpret and review electrical drawings including schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, interlocking logic, GA drawings and single line diagrams (SLDs)
• Provide technical support during project execution
• Participate in design review meetings with clients and consultants to address technical queries
• Provide technical support during pre-tender stage
• Ensure compliance with project specifications IEC/IEEE Utility standards and company quality procedures
• Follow HSE, Health, Safety and Environment requirements while executing site activities
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for testing procedures and safety practices
