Job summary

Medtronic is seeking a Field Service Specialist based in Dubai to lead installations, maintenance, and service for capital medical equipment. You will be the primary contact for service and repair queries, collaborating with the local team and potentially supporting regions across EMEA.

Strong troubleshooting skills and English proficiency are required. Requires a Biomedical Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of field service experience in healthcare settings.

Qualifications

• Experience with electrosurgical units and operating room environments is preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and understanding of capital equipment control.
• Advanced English writing and speaking.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform installations and commissioning of new equipment at customer sites and pre-delivery.
• Execute preventive maintenance and testing per service manuals and specifications.
• Attend breakdowns, perform repairs, and troubleshoot independently.
• Provide testing, validation data, and technical support to users and the Global Service organization.
• Travel to sites (approx. 50%) domestically and internationally as part of the local team.

A Day in the Life

The Field Service Specialist is responsible for all aspects of equipment support performed at customer sites or before delivery and to ensure that it is completed in compliance with all company policies and standard operating procedures. This will include pre-installation checks system installation/commissioning planned maintenance troubleshooting assessment and breakdown repair.

The Field Service Specialist is the main contact point with the local customers and the local commercial team for all Service and Repair related questions.

For this role you will be expected to be located in Dubai as a part of APS (Arabian Peninsula States) Region and might support other regions within Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) if needed.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

• Lead and execute installations and commissioning of new equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance as per service manual checklist. Perform appropriate testing to confirm system functionality according to the manufacturers specifications.
• Attend breakdown calls and perform repairs and troubleshooting independently.
• Provide testing and validation support and data to the Global Service organization.
• Assist in technical support for users of complex systems. Including phone and remote support for users and technical staff.
• Collaborate with other field service engineers to troubleshoot difficult service activities.
• Travel to sites to work as a member of the local team to provide efficient repair/installation support.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

• Biomedical Bachelors degree is required minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Good knowledge of troubleshooting methods/skills and capital equipment control.
• Good experience in Electrosurgical units
• Systems are primarily used in the operating room so healthcare / surgical setting experience is required.
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
• Available to travel (around 50% of the time) domestically and internationally and work outside of core office hours.
• Advanced English writing and speaking

Experience working with medical devices in a large capital equipment environmentsuch as cardiac ablation platformsis highly desirable. A solid understanding of legal regulatory and compliance requirements is important along with the physical fitness needed to handle and transport heavy tools and equipment as required by the role. Direct experience engaging with key opinion leaders and other prominent figures in the scientific and clinical community is also valued. Strong analytical and advanced reporting skills are expected supported by proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Familiarity with SAP tools such as ServiceMax is an advantage and Arabic language proficiency is considered a strong asset.
