Job summary

NSR Associates in Dubai seeks an experienced Technical Design Manager to lead the technical design process for high-end fit-out and joinery projects. You will oversee shop drawings, coordinate with architects and site teams, and drive design coordination across multiple projects to meet quality, programme, and client expectations.

The role requires a strong background in bespoke joinery and interior fit-out detailing, with extensive UAE experience and proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 8–12 years' experience in technical design within the UAE fit-out and joinery industry.
• Strong knowledge of bespoke joinery manufacturing and interior fit-out detailing.
• Proven experience delivering luxury commercial, hospitality, residential, or retail projects.
• Expert knowledge of AutoCAD; proficiency in Revit and other 3D modelling software is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage the technical design team across multiple fit-out and joinery projects.
• Review architectural and interior design drawings, ensuring technical feasibility and compliance.
• Produce and oversee detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and technical submissions.
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, project managers, production, procurement, and site teams.
• Resolve technical challenges throughout the design and construction phases.
• Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, local regulations, and quality standards.
• Manage drawing approvals and revisions while maintaining project schedules.
• Liaise with joinery manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical and efficient to produce.
• Lead design coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Mentor and develop junior designers and CAD technicians.
• Drive continuous improvement in design processes, standards, and documentation.

About the Role We are seeking an experienced Technical Design Manager to join a growing fit-out and joinery team in Dubai. The successful candidate will lead the technical design process from concept through to production, ensuring all designs are fully coordinated, buildable, and delivered to the highest standards of quality, programme, and client expectations.
