Job summary

Azizi Developments in Dubai seeks a seasoned Fit-out Project Engineer to lead day-to-day interior construction activities. You will supervise trades, review drawings, coordinate with consultants and suppliers, and ensure works align with schedules and quality standards.

Responsibilities include progress monitoring, coordination of shop drawings and materials, and overseeing QA/QC inspections. Strong communication and ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Interior Design, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in fit-out, interior construction, or related projects.
• Experience coordinating architectural, interior design, MEP, and structural works.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and shop drawings.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office; Revit/BIM knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise day-to-day fit-out activities at project sites, ensuring works follow drawings, specs and schedules.
• Coordinate with consultants, architects, interior designers, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams for smooth execution.
• Review drawings and identify issues; approve shop drawings, submittals, samples and RFIs.
• Monitor progress and provide updates to the Project Manager; ensure proper sequencing to prevent delays.
• Supervise partitions, ceilings, finishes, joinery and other interior works; coordinate bespoke furniture elements.
• Inspect works for compliance; coordinate QA/QC inspections, snagging and rectification of defects.
• Manage material requirements, deliveries and storage; assist with progress and status reports.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely completion; support as-built and handover documents.
• Ensure adherence to HSE requirements and UAE regulations; participate in progress meetings.

Job description

• Manage and supervise day-to-day fit-out activities at project sites, ensuring works are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.


• Coordinate with consultants, architects, interior designers, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams to ensure smooth project execution.


• Review architectural, interior design, MEP, structural, and shop drawings and identify technical issues or discrepancies.


• Coordinate the preparation, review, and approval of shop drawings, material submittals, samples, method statements, and RFIs.


• Monitor site progress against project schedules and provide regular updates to the Project Manager.


• Ensure proper sequencing and coordination of fit-out activities to avoid delays and conflicts with other trades.


• Supervise works including partitions, ceilings, flooring, wall finishes, painting, joinery, doors, ironmongery, decorative works, and other interior finishes.


• Coordinate closely with the joinery/factory team for bespoke furniture, cabinetry, doors, wall panels, and other manufactured fit-out elements.


• Inspect completed works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.


• Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspections, snagging, testing, and rectification of defects.


• Monitor material requirements, deliveries, storage, and utilization to ensure materials are available as per project requirements.


• Identify technical problems, site constraints, and potential delays and recommend practical solutions.


• Assist in preparing project reports, progress updates, material status reports, and technical documentation.


• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely completion of assigned works.


• Ensure all works comply with project HSE requirements and applicable UAE regulations.


• Participate in site meetings, coordination meetings, inspections, and progress reviews.


• Support the preparation of as-built drawings, handover documentation, O&M requirements, and project close-out documents.


• Monitor variations and additional works and coordinate with the commercial/cost control team where required.


• Provide technical support and guidance to site engineers, supervisors, draftsmen, and subcontractors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Interior Design, or a related engineering discipline.


• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in fit-out, interior construction, or related projects.


• Strong experience in high-rise residential, hospitality, commercial, or large-scale fit-out projects.


• Good knowledge of interior fit-out works, including partitions, ceilings, flooring, wall finishes, painting, joinery, doors, and decorative finishes.


• Experience coordinating architectural, interior design, MEP, and structural works.


• Ability to read and interpret construction, architectural, MEP, and shop drawings.


• Experience with subcontractor management, site coordination, material approvals, inspections, and project documentation.


• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office; knowledge of Revit/BIM and project management software is an advantage.


• Strong knowledge of QA/QC and HSE requirements.


• Good communication, coordination, problem-solving, and organizational skills.


• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple activities within tight project deadlines.
