Position Overview
The Teacher - Inclusion in Abu Dhabi, UAE focuses on supporting SEN students, delivering targeted intervention programmes, and promoting inclusive education within a leading British curriculum school.
Responsible for delivering high‑quality teaching and intervention support for students with special educational needs; ensuring inclusive classroom practices, developing Individual Education Plans, and working closely with teachers, parents, and specialists to improve student achievement and well‑being.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver lessons that inspire students and support the best possible academic outcomes
- Promote inclusion within the classroom and across the school at all levels
- Work closely with parents to support student happiness and academic success
- Collaborate with curriculum support staff and teaching teams to improve student development
- Motivate pupils through creative, engaging, and inclusive teaching methods
- Observe and assess SEN students and identify priority areas for targeted intervention
- Plan and deliver intervention programmes tailored to individual learning needs
- Meet with speech therapists, occupational therapists, educational psychologists, and other specialists when required
- Maintain accurate records and develop Individual Education Plans for SEN students
- Coordinate student care plans and monitor academic progress using Target Tracker
- Provide feedback to parents and carers during Parent Teacher Conferences and school meetings
- Apply behaviour management strategies in line with school policy and safeguarding standards
- Support school events, extracurricular activities, curriculum action groups, and weekly ECA programmes
Ideal Profile
- BA in Special Education, Education, or Psychology with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
- Minimum 1 to 2 years of teaching experience in a school environment
- Previous experience supporting students where English is not their first language is preferred
- Passion for inclusion and commitment to educating the whole child
- Strong professionalism with focus on student welfare and safeguarding
- Recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular activities
- Positive attitude with strong teamwork and communication skills
- Valid enhanced DBS check or police clearance required
- Candidate must reside in the same Emirate as the assigned school
