Job summary

Abu Dhabi National Oil Company in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Marine Operations Manager to plan, execute and supervise daily tanker fleet operations, ensuring cargo handling is safe and compliant with regulations and ADNOC standards.

You will coordinate with ship masters and shore staff, monitor voyage planning, loading and discharge, and oversee reporting, documentation, and invoicing to maintain efficiency and avoid delays.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or higher in a related field (Bachelor's preferred).
  • Five years of experience in oil terminal operations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with ship masters and shore teams to meet tanker operation targets.
  • Ensure cargo handling follows safety and efficiency standards and reporting requirements.
  • Supervise day-to-day tanker operations and verify reports and logs for compliance with ADNOC procedures and international flagstate laws.
  • Plan voyages and monitor vessel operations using in-house systems for loading/discharge, berthing, and performance.
  • Liaise with legal, insurance, customers, terminal operators, and ports to ensure smooth ship operations.

JOB PURPOSE

Plan, execute and supervise daily marine operations of ADNOC Distribution tanker fleet vessels in order toensure cargo is handled safely and in line with operating targets and applicable regulations and standards.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Job Specific Accountabilities
Operations Management
  • Coordinate with ship masters of ADNOC’s chartered tankers providing guidance in the related areasencouraging teamwork and facilitating related professional work processes to ensure tanker operationstargets are met.
  • Ensure the cargo handling it is done in accordance with approved safety and operational efficiencystandards and procedures and ensure adequate reporting.
  • Supervise day-to-day operations and handling of the tankers and verify reports and logbooks to ensurethat ships are being operated safely and in compliance with ADNOC’s procedures and international flagstate laws.
  • Plan voyages and use in-house monitoring systems to monitor vessel operations including ship/ shoreloading efficiency, passage performance, ship performance, ship condition, cargo measurement, crew,and ship operation standards in order to identify and resolve any issues.
  • Administer the ship vetting/ inspection system and direct ships officers on such matters and onmonitoring ship/ shore interface.
  • Liaise with internal and external parties at the appropriate levels, including legal and insurancedepartments, customers, terminal operators and discharging ports, to ensure smooth flow of shipoperations.
  • Supervise tanker operations onshore and offshore staff, contributing to their performance management,recruitment, training and development to ensure high-level of engagement and a motivated workenvironment.
  • Plan and controls discharge orders to ensure the economic turnaround of vessels in order to avoiddelays in discharge and consequent demurrage claims. This includes coordinating with suppliers,ship owners, port authorities, shipping agents, terminal operations personnel and other users of the port facilities and ensuring that the nominated vessels do not clash with vessels of other users andthat the vessels comply with all port terminal regulations.
  • Execute the monthly nomination and 13 weeks plan and coordinate with ADNOC Marketing to sendtimely cargo nominations and with receiving terminals to ensure berths and ullage availability.
  • Creates and control all system transactions (GRNs, PTNs, PDNs, PINs) in ERP system to match loadingand discharge operations transactions.
  • In time processing of invoices related to Charter, Agents, Third Party Inspection company & Portsauthorities.
Maintenance
  • Ensure all ships comply with international and flag state laws to make sure that ships are capable ofperforming the intended voyages.
  • Ensure compliance with all national, International, company and class standards as well as the hull anddeck maintenance for the fleet.
  • Ensure through Ship owner that any maintenance related to Cargo storage and handling system is inalignment with the international / industry requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Minimum Qualification
  • Diploma Certificate or higher in related field
  • Bachelor’s degree will be preferred
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
  • 5 years of experience in Oil terminal operations
