Job summary

Alabbar Group, a leading façade specialist headquartered in Dubai, seeks a Senior Structural Façade Engineer to lead design and calculation work for complex curtain wall systems. You will ensure drawings reflect engineering intent, prepare concept-stage reports, and collaborate with design teams to deliver coordinated solutions for high-rise projects.

The role requires 5–8 years of relevant experience, a Civil Engineering degree, and proficiency with FEA tools and CAD/3D modelling software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Professional licensure or equivalent certification is preferred.
• 5–8 years of experience in structural design for façade or curtain wall systems.
• Strong technical report writing and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed structural calculations for façade and building enclosure systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed structural calculations for façade and building enclosure systems, ranging from simple to complex projects.
• Ensure all drawings are aligned with the developed system design and engineering intent.
• Prepare schematics, sketches, and preliminary reports to support concept-stage design development.
• Collaborate closely with the Design Team Leader and Design Managers to deliver coordinated solutions.
• Participate in technical meetings and design workshops alongside Senior Engineers and Engineering Managers.
• Support site activities, including testing and inspections, as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Professional licensure or equivalent certification is preferred.
• 5–8 years of experience in structural design, specifically related to façade or curtain wall systems (entry-level candidates may also be considered).
• Strong technical report writing and documentation skills.
• Proficiency in engineering FEA analysis and simulation tools, including STAAD.Pro, SolidWorks Simulation, SJ Mepla, Mathcad, and IDEA StatiCa.
• Advanced capability in Microsoft Excel for complex engineering calculations, data analysis, and reporting.
• Strong expertise in drafting and 3D modelling using AutoCAD and SketchUp Pro.
• Sound knowledge of façade systems and building enclosure design principles.
• Good understanding of design stages, including concept, shop drawings, fabrication, and installation.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team.
