Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in aluminum, façade, curtain wall, glazing or building envelope.
• Experience with wind loads, deflection criteria, thermal movement, and connection design.
• Proficiency in STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of Eurocode, BS, AAMA, ASTM standards.
• Experience in aluminum fabrication or façade manufacturing preferred.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to support the structural design, analysis, and engineering of aluminum and façade systems. The role will ensure that curtain walls, glazing, cladding, windows, doors, and associated support systems are structurally safe, compliant, and suitable for fabrication and installation.

Key Responsibilities

Structural Design & Analysis

• Perform structural analysis and design for aluminum and façade systems, including curtain walls, windows, doors, skylights, louvers, glazing, and cladding.
• Prepare structural calculations for aluminum profiles, mullions, transoms, steel reinforcements, brackets, anchors, and connection systems.
• Assess design loads, including wind loads, dead loads, live loads, thermal movements, and other project-specific loading requirements.
• Verify deflection, stress, stability, and overall structural performance in accordance with applicable codes and project specifications.
• Select and recommend suitable structural members, profiles, reinforcements, and fixing systems.
• Review architectural, structural, and façade drawings to identify design requirements and potential coordination issues.
• Coordinate with Façade Designers, BIM Modelers, Architects, and other engineering disciplines.
• Provide structural input during the design development and shop drawing stages.
• Ensure structural designs are practical, safe, and suitable for factory fabrication and site installation.

Technical Review & Documentation

• Prepare and review structural calculation reports, engineering submissions, and technical documentation.
• Review shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation details to ensure compliance with approved structural designs.
• Support the preparation of method statements and technical proposals when required.
• Ensure proper documentation and revision control of structural calculations and engineering deliverables.

Factory & Site Support

• Provide technical support to the factory during fabrication and resolve structural or design-related issues.
• Coordinate with the Production team regarding fabrication requirements, steel reinforcements, brackets, and other structural components.
• Support site teams in resolving issues related to anchors, brackets, connections, tolerances, and installation.
• Participate in site inspections and technical meetings as required.

Compliance & Quality

• Ensure designs comply with relevant project specifications, international standards, and applicable UAE/local authority requirements.
• Support QA/QC teams in addressing structural non-conformities and technical issues.
• Identify potential structural risks and recommend appropriate corrective actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience, preferably in the Aluminum, Façade, Curtain Wall, Glazing, Cladding, or Building Envelope industry.
• Strong experience in structural analysis and design of aluminum and façade systems.
• Good knowledge of wind loading, deflection criteria, thermal movement, stress analysis, and connection design.
• Experience with aluminum profiles, mullions, transoms, steel reinforcements, brackets, anchors, and fixing systems.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software such as STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit/BIM is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of relevant design codes and standards such as Eurocode, BS, AAMA, ASTM, and applicable project requirements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical coordination skills.
• Experience in an aluminum fabrication or façade manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
