Job summary

Mace Group is seeking a degree-qualified civil/structural engineer to join our Abu Dhabi team on a large mixed-use regeneration development. This role focuses on site engineering, dimensional control, and safety, with responsibility for coordinating temporary works and quality governance.

You will manage multi-disciplinary interfaces, support design and construction teams, and provide expert advice on codes, standards, and FIDIC Yellow Book conditions. Hybrid options available where suitable.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified civil/structural engineer with professional accreditation.
• Strong UAE experience on mixed-use projects and local codes.
• Experience with temporary works, structural reviews, and FIDIC Yellow Book.
• Demonstrates technical leadership and effective stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage site engineering and dimensional control prior to follow-on works.
• Oversee trade contractors, ITP compliance, and inspection records.
• Apply Mace temporary works procedures to drive safety and quality.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams on design standards and deliverables.

• Support delivery phase with constructability and best-practice design.

Job description

Position status: This opportunity is for a bid, so it is not yet a secured role.

The project:

Mace is providing project management services on a large mixed-use regeneration development in Abu Dhabi. The site will have commercial workplaces and retail units along with a public realm.

Provides technical assurance across structural and interfacing trades, supporting accurate control, verification, and compliance. Oversees quality activities, validating contractor checks, and ensuring adherence to Mace procedures, including temporary works and safety. Drives clear scope, coordination, and robust quality governance to support successful project delivery.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Manage site engineering and dimensional control, ensuring robust verification before follow-on works.
• Managing trade contractors, ITP compliance and inspection records, and resolving design and technical queries.
• Acting in line with Mace temporary works procedures, driving safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Overseeing coordination between multidisciplinary teams, maintaining alignment on design standards, specifications, and project deliverables.
• Providing expert advice on building safety legislation, building codes, HSE requirements, construction contracts, and FIDIC Yellow Book conditions.
• Supporting the delivery phase of complex building projects, ensuring compliance, constructability, and best practice design solutions.
• Building strong relationships with client representatives, senior stakeholders, and wider project teams to drive collaboration and efficient decision-making.
• Integrating sustainability and carbon considerations into project design and delivery strategies.

You’ll need to have:

• Degree-qualified civil/structural engineer with professional accreditation.
