Job summary

Management Solutions International MSI is seeking an experienced Design Engineer - Mechanical in Dubai to lead detailed mechanical design for HVAC, plumbing, drainage and firefighting systems on high-rise commercial, residential and hospitality projects. The role requires 6–10 years in mechanical design, GCC/UAE experience, and registration with the UAE Society of Engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
• 6–10 years of mechanical system design experience in high-rise projects.
• Minimum 5 years GCC experience (UAE preferred).
• Registered Engineer with the UAE Society of Engineers. DEWA approval; DCD and EMAAR approvals are strong advantages.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, HAP and Elite; knowledge of Revit MEP and BIM coordination tools.
• NFPA, ASHRAE or LEED/ESTIDAMA certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed mechanical shop drawings, schematics and single-line diagrams for HVAC, plumbing, drainage and firefighting systems.
• Perform cooling/heating load calculations using HAP (or equivalent) and determine equipment capacities, duct sizing and piping layouts.
• Select and specify major mechanical equipment including chillers, AHUs, FAHUs, FCUs, pumps, valves and control components.
• Review design documentation against ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA and local authority standards (Dubai Municipality, DCD, etc.).
• Prepare BOQs, material specifications, technical reports and engineering design deliverables.
• Identify constructability issues, issue RFIs and explore Value Engineering opportunities.
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings to ensure clash-free service routing with other disciplines.
• Assist QA/QC teams, support commissioning plans and prepare final as-built drawings and handover documentation under ISO quality guidelines.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer - Mechanical to join our team in this role you will be responsible for developing detailed mechanical design packages (including HVAC plumbing drainage and firefighting systems) for high-rise commercial residential and hospitality projects while ensuring compliance with UAE authority regulations and international standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed mechanical shop drawings schematics and single-line diagrams for HVAC plumbing drainage and firefighting systems in line with project specifications.

• Perform cooling/heating load calculations using HAP (or equivalent) and determine equipment capacities duct sizing and piping layouts.

• Select and specify major mechanical equipment including chillers AHUs FAHUs FCUs pumps valves and control components.

• Review design documentation against ASHRAE SMACNA NFPA and local authority standards (Dubai Municipality DCD etc.).

• Prepare BOQs material specifications technical reports and engineering design deliverables.

• Identify constructability issues issue RFIs and explore Value Engineering opportunities.

• Participate in BIM coordination meetings to ensure clash-free service routing alongside architectural structural and electrical teams.

• Assist QA/QC teams support commissioning plans and prepare final as-built drawings and handover documentation under ISO quality guidelines.

Required Qualifications & Skills:
