Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Technical Engineer - Mechanical to join our contracting team in Dubai, UAE. The role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong expertise in HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, and mechanical systems for large-scale projects.

The successful candidate will review designs, coordinate with consultants, and ensure that all mechanical works comply with project specifications, authority requirements, and international standards.

Core Duties

• Review and interpret design drawings, BOQs, and specifications for mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and fire fighting
• Coordinate with consultants, architects, structural, and electrical teams to ensure full design integration
• Prepare and review shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built documentation as per authority standards
• Ensure compliance with UAE codes and authority regulations (DM, DEWA, DCD, ADDC) and international standards such as ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA
• Provide technical guidance to construction teams during installation and commissioning phases
• Manage RFIs, material submittals, method statements, and other project documentation
• Work with procurement teams to ensure timely material and equipment delivery
• Attend site meetings, technical workshops, and client coordination sessions
• Support value engineering initiatives and project optimization strategies

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 8 years of experience, with at least 5 years in UAE contracting firms
• Proven knowledge of mechanical systems for high-rise, residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and mechanical design tools (HAP, DuctSizer, PipeSizer; Revit MEP preferred)
• Strong understanding of UAE authority codes and compliance standards
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and coordination skills
• Ability to perform in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
