Job summary

Tektora is seeking a senior React engineer to join the front end for cellular communications products in Abu Dhabi. You will own design decisions and implementation, working on real-time systems and contributing to architecture. Relocation is supported, international candidates are welcome.

Role focuses on building a scalable UI on top of real-time services, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and delivering production-grade software in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in web application development (JavaScript/TypeScript/HTML/CSS).
• 8+ years with React or a comparable framework.
• Experience with Redux, Docker and WebSocket in production.
• Ability to read specifications and design accordingly.
• Self-directed with strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

Responsibilities

• Research, design and development of cellular communications applications using React and WebSocket.
• Designing and building for deployment across multiple platforms and architectures, and maintaining the CI/CD pipeline.
• Writing unit and integration tests, and unit testing your own code.
• Working alongside developers, system architects and product managers to deliver production-grade solutions.
• Contributing to technical and architectural decisions rather than only implementing them.

Tektora are supporting an established defence technology client who are building the front end for their cellular communications products in Abu Dhabi, and are looking to speak with senior React engineers.

This role is open to relocation. The client is actively considering candidates from outside the UAE and will support the move for the right person.

This role would suit a front-end engineer who wants the interface to sit on top of something substantial — real-time cellular systems rather than another dashboard — and who is comfortable owning design decisions as well as implementation.

The Role

You Will Be Involved In

• Research, design and development of cellular communications applications using React and WebSocket

Key Experience Required

• 10+ years in web application development with JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML and CSS
• 8+ years with React or a comparable component framework
• Redux, Docker and WebSocket in production
• Comfortable working from written specifications and designing against them
• Self-directed — able to plan and run a piece of work without close supervision
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and debugging skills
• BSc or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field

Desirable Experience

• UX and UI design — the client would like someone who can shape the interface, not only build it
• Real-time or streaming data interfaces, and data-dense operational displays
• Telecoms, defence, aerospace or another regulated, high-assurance environment
