Job summary

A leading engineering firm is seeking a Site Manager/Topside Manager for a long-term assignment in Dubai’s fabrication yard. Candidates should have over 5 years of relevant experience, an engineering degree, and strong skills in quality and HSE management. Proficiency in English is mandatory, and additional certifications are advantageous.

Qualifications

Dubai, UAE | Onsite – Fabrication Yard • Contract / Long-term assignment

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Site Manager / Topside Manager to represent the Client / Owner at a fabrication yard responsible for the construction of an offshore substation topside.

This is a senior on-site leadership role, focused on supervising contractors, ensuring safe execution, high quality, and on-time delivery of fabrication and assembly activities in a complex offshore environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the Owner’s Representative at the fabrication yard and primary interface with contractors
• Supervise all fabrication and assembly activities to ensure compliance with:
  • approved schedules
  • technical specifications
  • quality standards
  • HSE requirements
• Monitor contractor resources versus actual progress
• Coordinate all Client Representatives on site
• Ensure proper handling and storage of free-issued materials (FIM)
• Manage non-conformities (NCs) and punch list items
• Prepare and deliver regular progress, quality, and HSE reports
• Support and participate in key construction and coordination meetings
• Assist welding and coating inspection activities when required

What We Are Looking For

Required

• Engineering degree or equivalent technical background
• 5+ years of experience (10+ years preferred) as:
  • Site Manager / Site Coordinator
  • Owner’s Engineer / Client Representative
  • Construction Manager (offshore or heavy industry)
• Strong experience in:
  • offshore topside fabrication
  • steel structures
  • fabrication yards
• Solid background in quality, HSE, and punch list management
• Excellent coordination, reporting, and problem-solving skills
• Fluent English (spoken and written)

Nice to Have

• Qualified Electrician certification (e.g. DIN VDE 0105-100 or equivalent)
• Offshore coating / painting experience
• FROSIO certification
• Arabic language skills
• German language skills
