Responsibilities

Role Context

The Site Engineer will support the day-to-day delivery of civil works across high-rise and residential building projects in Dubai. The role requires continuous site presence, close coordination with subcontractors and supervision teams, accurate interpretation of drawings, and timely identification of construction issues. By monitoring workmanship, manpower, materials, inspections, and activity progress, the Site Engineer will help maintain construction quality while supporting the Project Manager in meeting programme milestones and resolving site constraints efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily civil construction activities across assigned site areas.
• Ensure work is executed according to approved drawings, technical specifications, method statements, and established quality requirements.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, consultants, surveyors, foremen, supervisors, and other site personnel.
• Inspect reinforcement installation before concrete placement and verify compliance with structural drawings.
• Check formwork alignment, dimensions, levels, supports, and readiness for inspection.
• Monitor concrete works including preparation, pouring, curing, and associated quality requirements.
• Supervise blockwork, plastering, waterproofing, and finishing activities throughout the construction sequence.
• Verify that workmanship meets approved project standards before requesting consultant inspections.
• Monitor labour deployment, material availability, equipment requirements, and daily work progress.
• Coordinate site inspections and ensure required documentation is prepared before consultant review.
• Maintain daily progress records covering completed activities, manpower, materials, delays, and outstanding issues.
• Identify drawing discrepancies, construction conflicts, technical concerns, and site constraints at an early stage.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager and relevant engineering teams to resolve technical and operational issues.
• Ensure subcontractors follow approved construction sequences and project schedules.
• Monitor material usage and report shortages or anticipated requirements before they affect site productivity.
• Support quality control processes by addressing inspection comments, observations, and corrective actions.
• Ensure construction activities comply with project HSE requirements and approved safe working procedures.
• Assist with coordination between structural, architectural, MEP, and finishing activities where interfaces affect civil works.

Ideal Profile

The position requires a Bachelor 's degree in Civil Engineering together with 3-8 years of practical experience in building construction. Candidates should have direct site exposure to residential or high-rise projects and be comfortable supervising structural and finishing activities from reinforcement and concrete works through blockwork, waterproofing, plastering and final finishes. A good understanding of construction drawings, specifications, inspection procedures, quality control requirements, and site coordination is essential. The successful candidate should be able to manage several ongoing activities simultaneously, communicate effectively with subcontractors and consultants, and elevate technical issues before they disrupt construction progress.
