Job summary

AECOM Middle East Limited - Al Ain is seeking an experienced Civil Inspector to oversee potable water pipeline construction on a major Al Ain project. You will verify installations, monitor earthwork, observe QA/QC procedures, and ensure compliance with drawings and specifications on-site.

The role requires a Diploma in Civil Engineering and at least 7 years' experience in water infrastructure, coordination with survey teams, and strong HSE adherence.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in infrastructure projects with experience in potable water distribution networks.
• Experience in potable water pipelines, valves, fittings, chambers, hydrants, service connections, thrust blocks and tie-ins.
• Experience witnessing and coordinating pressure testing, flushing, disinfection, water quality testing and commissioning activities.
• Strong knowledge of drawings, QA/QC procedures, ITPs and construction standards for water projects.
• Experience coordinating with survey teams and verifying pipeline alignments, levels and utility interfaces.
• UAE/GCC experience and familiarity with TAQA Water standards preferred.
• Good understanding of HSE requirements for excavation, testing and confined-space operations.
• Strong communication, reporting, and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect installation of potable water pipelines, valves, fittings and hydrants.
• Monitor excavation, shoring, dewatering, bedding and pipe laying.
• Verify compliance with IFC/shop drawings, specifications, method statements and ITPs.
• Coordinate with Survey Team on alignment, levels and coordinates.
• Ensure only approved materials are used in permanent works.
• Witness pressure testing, flushing, disinfection, and water quality testing.
• Inspect valve and chamber installations and verify accessibility and workmanship.
• Report defective or non-conforming works and monitor corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, checklists, photos and test results.
• Coordinate with ARE/RE, Contractor, QA/QC Team and other inspectors.
• Monitor interfaces with sewerage, stormwater, roads and utilities.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements for excavations and lifting operations.
• Support TAQA Water inspections, shutdowns and final handover.
