Job summary

WSP in the Middle East seeks a Senior Engineer - Water (Hydrology & Stormwater) to lead hydrology, drainage, and flood risk design for major UAE infrastructure and land development projects. You will model, analyse, and report on water systems, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.

With 8+ years of relevant experience and strong technical leadership, you will prepare authority submissions, develop sustainable drainage concepts, and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in hydrology, stormwater, and drainage design.
• Experience delivering UAE infrastructure and land development projects.
• Strong hydrological and hydraulic modelling knowledge.
• Proficient with InfoWorks ICM, HEC‑RAS, Flood Modeller, StormCAD, MicroDrainage or Civil 3D.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams on infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with local authority requirements, standards, and approvals.
• Strong report writing, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and client interaction skills.
• Chartered Engineer status or equivalent accreditation desirable.

Responsibilities

• Undertake hydrological assessments, drainage studies, flood risk analyses, and stormwater designs.
• Perform hydrological modelling and drainage network assessments.
• Develop sustainable drainage solutions and climate-resilient design.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, and modelling outputs.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated delivery.
• Support project managers in delivering on time and within budget.
• Assist with authority submissions and approval documentation.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and technical development.
