Job summary

WSP in the Middle East is seeking a Principal Engineer - Water to lead design and delivery of large-scale water and wet utilities projects in the Dubai/Sharjah region. You will guide hydrology/hydraulic modelling, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and drive high-quality technical outputs for client engagement and regulatory approvals.

The role requires 10–12+ years of UAE-based experience, strong leadership, and a commitment to innovative, sustainable water solutions in a dynamic market.

Qualifications

• 10–12+ years in water infrastructure design or wet utilities engineering.
• Proven UAE project delivery experience with local authority standards.
• Leadership of multidisciplinary teams on large infrastructure projects.
• Strong technical writing, reporting, and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design and delivery of major water projects (potable water, drainage, sewerage, irrigation).
• Provide technical leadership in hydrology, hydraulics, and wet utilities design.
• Coordinate civil, structural, environmental, and transport disciplines.
• Produce design reports, modelling outputs, specs, drawings, and tender docs.
• Engage clients, present solutions, and manage authority submissions.
• Mentor junior engineers and support technical strategy.
• Contribute to proposals, bids, and client relationship building.
• Ensure QA/health & safety compliance and alignment with best practices.
