Job summary

WSP in the Middle East seeks an Associate Director - Water (Hydrology & Stormwater) to lead technical delivery, strategic direction, and growth of hydrology, stormwater, flood risk, and drainage design services across UAE infrastructure and land development projects. Based in Sharjah/Dubai, the role focuses on client and authority engagement and delivery excellence.

You will guide multidisciplinary teams, drive governance, and develop innovative, sustainable water solutions while supporting

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; master's preferred.
18+ years in hydrology, stormwater, flood risk and drainage design.
Experience delivering major UAE infrastructure and land development projects.
Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams and client-facing governance.
Strong knowledge of UAE authority requirements and design standards.

Responsibilities

Lead hydrology, flood risk studies and drainage master planning for major projects.
Provide technical governance across modelling, catchment analysis and climate resilience.
Direct development of innovative stormwater strategies aligned with sustainability goals.
Review and approve reports, designs and authority submissions.
Engage senior clients and authorities to shape project governance and approvals.
Oversee teams, mentor staff and promote technical excellence.
Drive technical input into proposals and framework opportunities.
