Job summary

Shory is seeking a seasoned Technical Manager to lead end-to-end placement of insurance risks in the direct market for P&C and specialty lines. You will report to the Technical Director and support Client Partners on technical queries and insurer meetings.

Essential ACII/FIII/DipCII or equivalent, 5–10 years in insurance broking, strong negotiation and analytical skills, and knowledge of reinsurance. Based in the UAE, you will collaborate across teams and drive client outcomes.

Qualifications

• ACII (or equivalent) and substantial broking experience required.
• 5–10 years in insurance broking with direct market placement.
• Strong negotiation, analytical and client-facing capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end placement of P&C and specialty risks in the direct market.
• Prepare risk submissions, negotiate terms, pricing and conditions with insurers.
• Monitor insurer appetite, formulate placement strategy and advise clients.
• Maintain relationships with direct market insurers, underwriters and contacts.
• Apply knowledge of reinsurance where needed and mentor junior staff.
