Job summary

Unify Group in the United Arab Emirates is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead complex insurance placements for corporate clients. The role requires deep policy structuring, risk assessment, underwriting principles, and market negotiations to secure competitive coverage and capacity.

You will build relationships with insurers and reinsurers, review risk profiles and loss histories, and negotiate terms, pricing, and wordings.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience within insurance brokerage, underwriting, risk advisory, or a similar insurance environment.
• Strong understanding of UAE insurance market practices and regulatory requirements.
• Proven experience handling commercial and corporate insurance risks.
• Sound knowledge of policy wordings and coverage structures; risk assessment and underwriting principles.

Responsibilities

• Manage the placement of commercial and corporate insurance risks across a broad range of industries.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with insurers, reinsurers, underwriters, and key market stakeholders within the UAE.
• Review client risk profiles, loss histories, survey reports, and risk engineering recommendations to support placement strategies.
• Structure and negotiate insurance programmes tailored to client requirements and risk exposures.
• Review and negotiate policy wordings, endorsements, exclusions, terms, and conditions.
• Support facultative and treaty reinsurance placements where required.
• Negotiate competitive pricing, coverage enhancements, and policy conditions with insurers and reinsurers.
• Secure market capacity for complex, high-value, or challenging risks.
• Provide technical guidance and market insight to support client retention and business growth.
• Monitor market trends, insurer appetite, regulatory developments, and emerging risks impacting the insurance sector.
• Build and maintain a strong professional network within the UAE insurance market.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience within insurance brokerage, underwriting, risk advisory, or a similar insurance environment.
• Strong understanding of UAE insurance market practices and regulatory requirements.
• Proven experience handling commercial and corporate insurance risks.
• Sound knowledge of:
• Policy wordings and coverage structures
• Risk assessment and underwriting principles
• Insurance pricing methodologies
• Facultative and treaty reinsurance concepts
• Risk placement and insurer negotiations
• Demonstrated ability to review and interpret:
• Loss history reports
• Risk assessment reports
• Survey and engineering recommendations
• Strong negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
• Established relationships with UAE insurers and market participants.
• Professional insurance qualifications such as ACII, Cert CII, CPCU, or equivalent will be considered an advantage.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with exposure to Property, Engineering, Construction, Liability, Financial Lines, Energy, Infrastructure, Real Estate, Hospitality, Aviation, or other large commercial risks will be highly regarded.
