Position Overview

Senior Structural Engineer in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is a high-demand Civil Engineering opportunity for experienced infrastructure professionals with strong knowledge of RTA road projects, structural inspections, QA/QC procedures, bridges, underpasses, culverts, retaining walls, and highway-related structures. This role supports major transport and infrastructure projects by supervising inspection teams, ensuring compliance with approved specifications, resolving technical issues, and maintaining quality standards across structural and road works.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and evaluate structural and road inspectors to ensure site inspections comply with approved ITPs, RTA specifications, project requirements, and international standards.
• Develop, maintain, and improve QA/QC procedures, inspection and test plans, checklists, and inspection workflows for road and structural works.
• Review and approve shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals for bridges, underpasses, culverts, retaining walls, shoring systems, and highway structures.
• Coordinate and inspect foundation and substructure works, including piling, pile caps, abutments, piers, box culverts, and related structural elements.
• Monitor structural and road work progress, report risks and updates to the Project Manager or Resident Engineer, and support recovery planning where needed.
• Ensure road‑related structural works meet project standards, including pavements, concrete barriers, crash barriers, sign gantries, lighting foundations, and ancillary structures.
• Coordinate interfaces between structural works, roadworks, utilities, MEP services, drainage systems, and temporary works to reduce clashes and rework.
• Liaise with design teams to close RFIs, technical queries, clarifications, and design‑related issues affecting structural and road elements.
• Identify non‑conformances, issue NCRs, follow up corrective actions, and ensure timely closure with proper documentation.
• Review, verify, and maintain inspection records, test results, as‑built documentation, and project close‑out records.
• Support RTA inspections, audits, final acceptance processes, handover documentation, and approval of as‑built drawings.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to junior engineers, inspectors, and site supervision teams.

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
• 10‑16 years of experience in infrastructure, road, bridge, highway, and structural engineering supervision.
• Minimum 5‑8 years of UAE experience is mandatory, with strong exposure to RTA projects.
• RTA or Dubai Municipality approval is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of RTA specifications, ITPs, QA/QC procedures, site inspection methods, NCR management, and project handover requirements.
• Practical experience with bridges, underpasses, culverts, retaining walls, shoring systems, foundations, barriers, gantries, and road‑related structural elements.
• Able to coordinate effectively with resident engineers, project managers, planning engineers, design teams, utilities teams, contractors, and authorities.
• Strong technical judgment, documentation discipline, and ability to guide inspection teams in a fast‑moving infrastructure environment.
• Confident in resolving site issues, reviewing technical submissions, and maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
