Structural Inspector – Roads Bridges in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is a Civil Engineering opportunity for an experienced site inspection professional with strong exposure to bridge structures, road infrastructure, contractor supervision, QA/QC monitoring, and contract compliance. This role is suited for a detail‑focused civil engineering inspector who can support major infrastructure works, verify site activities against approved drawings and specifications, and help maintain quality, safety, and delivery standards on complex roads and bridges projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project contract documents, drawings, specifications, method statements, and health and safety requirements before and during site execution.
- Inspect structural, roads, bridges, and associated infrastructure works to confirm compliance with approved project standards.
- Monitor contractor activities on site and verify that manpower, equipment, materials, and work methods are aligned with project requirements.
- Carry out site supervision and inspections as instructed by the Resident Engineer or Structural Engineer.
- Maintain daily records of contractor resources, site progress, inspections, work orders, material deliveries, and key construction activities.
- Prepare clear daily reports for the Resident Engineer or Structural Engineer, including inspection updates and site observations.
- Follow up on site instructions issued by the engineering team and verify timely implementation by the contractor.
- Apply site quality control procedures and support inspection audits for conformity with contract documents and approved plans.
- Monitor contractor QA/QC activities and maintain proper records of inspections, tests, approvals, and executed works.
- Assist with site measurements, surveying checks, and verification activities related to bridge works and other structural components.
- Coordinate with the client project manager during site inspections in the presence of the Resident Engineer or Structural Engineer.
- Support the preparation of correspondence related to site issues, quality matters, progress concerns, and contract requirements.
- Identify site problems, report concerns promptly, and work with the engineering team to support practical and compliant solutions.
- Monitor start‑up, commissioning, handover activities, and project milestones while keeping accurate supporting records.
- Maintain records of material tests, completed works, inspection findings, and construction progress for project control and reporting.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in similar structural, roads, bridges, or infrastructure inspection roles.
- At least 3 years of relevant UAE project experience.
- Previous experience on roads, bridges, structural works, or comparable transport infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of contract documents, technical drawings, specifications, inspection procedures, and site quality requirements.
- RTA approval is preferred.
- Practical knowledge of QA/QC documentation, site supervision, material testing records, and contractor monitoring.
- Ability to communicate clearly with engineers, contractors, client representatives, and site teams.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify non‑compliance, quality issues, and site risks early.
- Confident in preparing daily reports, inspection records, and site progress updates.
- Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements on active construction sites.
