Job summary

Role Summary

Civil Site Inspector – Structures in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is a Civil Engineering opportunity for an experienced construction inspection professional who can supervise structural, bridge, road, and associated infrastructure works in line with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, quality procedures, and site safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and remain familiar with contract documents, approved drawings, specifications, health and safety requirements, and project updates.
  • Ensure contractor activities comply with contract specifications, approved plans, quality procedures, and site requirements.
  • Undertake site supervision and inspections when required or instructed by the Resident Engineer or Structural Engineer.
  • Inspect bridge works, structural works, roads, and associated civil infrastructure activities for quality, compliance, and progress.
  • Maintain daily records of contractor manpower, equipment, material delivery, work orders, inspection programmes, and site activities.
  • Liaise with the contractor on a daily basis to verify resource planning, equipment availability, safety compliance, and work progress.
  • Prepare daily reports for the Resident Engineer or Structural Engineer, including work status, inspections, delivered materials, and site observations.
  • Follow up and implement site instructions issued by the Resident Engineer or Structural Engineer.
  • Apply site quality controls and quality procedures throughout inspection and supervision activities.
  • Monitor contractor QA/QC activities and maintain relevant inspection, testing, and quality records.
  • Audit inspections to confirm conformity with contract documents, approved drawings, contractor plans, and project procedures.
  • Maintain records of material tests, completed works, executed activities, and inspection outcomes.
  • Prepare site measurements and surveying checks required for bridge works and other associated structures.
  • Coordinate and cooperate with the client project manager during site inspections in the presence of the Resident Engineer or Structural Engineer.
  • Assist the Resident Engineer and Structural Engineer in preparing correspondence in line with contract documents and site requirements.
  • Work with the Resident Engineer or Structural Engineer to resolve site problems promptly and professionally.
  • Monitor start‑up, commissioning, handover, and completion activities while maintaining records of project milestones.
  • Identify quality issues, discrepancies, unsafe practices, and non‑compliant work, and report them through the appropriate project channels.
  • Support timely closure of site observations, quality issues, and inspection comments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for project reporting, quality assurance, and final handover.
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in similar construction supervision or site inspection projects.
  • Minimum 3 years of UAE experience is required.
  • UAE project experience is mandatory.
  • Relevant experience in structural, bridge, road, and civil infrastructure projects.
  • RTA approval is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of contract documents, drawings, specifications, QA/QC procedures, inspection processes, and site supervision standards.
  • Ability to monitor contractor manpower, equipment, progress, materials, safety, and quality activities.
  • Practical knowledge of bridge works, structural works, road construction, materials testing, site measurements, and surveying checks.
  • Strong reporting skills with the ability to prepare accurate daily reports, inspection notes, and site records.
  • Good coordination skills for working with contractors, Resident Engineers, Structural Engineers, client representatives, and project teams.
  • Ability to identify site problems and support practical, timely resolution.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality, safety, documentation accuracy, and contract compliance.
  • Professional approach to site inspections, contractor follow‑up, and project handover activities.
