Job summary

AECOM in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to supervise construction of structural elements across multiple projects. You will review shop drawings, perform site inspections, and ensure compliance with design specs, codes, and safety standards.

You will mentor junior engineers, liaise with clients and authorities, and contribute to technical reports and quality control. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Civil/Structural Engineering, 10+ years in construction

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in structural engineering with a focus on construction supervision.
• Advanced knowledge of structural engineering principles and practices.
• Strong understanding of international and local building codes and standards.
• Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex structural projects.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the construction of structural elements on various projects ensuring compliance with design specifications building codes and safety standards
• Review and approve structural shop drawings material submittals and construction methodologies
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction progress and quality
• Identify and resolve structural engineering issues that arise during construction
• Collaborate with project managers architects and other engineering disciplines to ensure project success
• Prepare and review technical reports including structural calculations and analysis
• Mentor and guide junior engineers fostering their professional development
• Liaise with clients contractors and regulatory authorities to ensure project requirements are met
• Implement and maintain quality control procedures for structural engineering activities
• Stay updated on industry trends innovative construction techniques and local building regulations
