Job summary

AECOM Middle East Ltd is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer in Abu Dhabi to support large-scale building construction projects. The role involves design coordination and site supervision, ensuring compliance with engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years of experience in building construction and supervision within the UAE or Middle East.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, codes and regulatory standards.
• Experience managing design coordination and contractor performance on site.
• Ability to interpret and execute complex engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Proven ability to handle technical challenges in fast-paced construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and administer civil and structural aspects of building construction projects.
• Review engineering details and drawings to ensure compliance with design intent and project specifications.
• Coordinate with contractors to resolve on-site design challenges and technical discrepancies.
• Liaise with design engineers regarding required modifications and client-driven changes.
• Support the Project Lead in reviewing material submittals and equipment approvals.
• Issue engineering correspondences and non-conformance reports for site violations.
• Attend coordination and progress meetings to address construction and drawing discrepancies.
• Monitor project activities to ensure compliance with zoning laws, authority requirements and applicable codes.
• Participate in snagging, inspections and project handover activities.
• Provide daily site reports highlighting technical issues and potential delays.
• Assist in expediting client and authority approvals to maintain project timelines.
