Job summary

Dar is a multinational engineering and consulting firm delivering comprehensive structural and infrastructure solutions. The company seeks an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to lead on-site activities, ensuring adherence to codes, safety standards and project timelines.

Responsibilities include directing the on-site team, coordinating with contractors, performing regular inspections and contributing to progress reports.

Qualifications

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 11+ to 12+ years of structural engineering experience on infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of building systems, codes and regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the on-site structural engineering team, ensuring work meets project specs, quality standards and safety.
• Manage day-to-day structural activities on-site, coordinating with contractors and subcontractors.
• Conduct regular inspections of foundations, columns, beams and slabs to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide structural calculations and guidance to ensure safe construction methods.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects and other disciplines to align activities with timelines.
• Facilitate clear communication between stakeholders to maintain workflow efficiency.
• Provide input to the monthly progress reports as directed by the Resident Engineer.
• Maintain detailed site documentation including daily reports, inspection records and non-compliance reports.
• Ensure all on-site structural activities comply with local building codes, safety regulations and environmental standards.

• Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines to align structural activities with overall project goals and timelines.
• Facilitate clear communication between stakeholders, addressing structural concerns and clarifying technical details to maintain workflow efficiency.
• Provides input to the monthly progress report as directed by the Resident Engineer.
• Maintain detailed site documentation, including daily reports, inspection records, and non-compliance reports, for project tracking and audit purposes.

Requirements

• Master’s / Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 12+ years of experience in structural engineering, with a strong background in infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of building systems, codes, and regulations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
