Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Resident Engineer – Bridges/Tunnels to lead construction supervision of bridge and tunnel works on a major infrastructure project in Abu Dhabi. You will manage site teams, coordinate with contractors and project stakeholders to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and schedule.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree and 15 years of relevant experience in large-scale bridge and tunnel projects, including materials testing, QA/QC, and interface coordination in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 15 Years of relevant experience supervising and delivering major bridge and tunnel projects.
• Strong experience in structural and infrastructure construction (foundations, piling, concrete, earthworks, drainage, waterproofing).
• Good knowledge of bridge and tunnel construction methods, inspection, testing and quality requirements.
• Experience managing site supervision teams and coordinating with Contractors and project stakeholders.
• Ability to review technical submissions, drawings, method statements, programmes and construction documentation.
• Good understanding of construction sequencing, progress monitoring, and project delivery.
• UAE experience on major infrastructure projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise site team for bridge, tunnel and related works.
• Supervise bridge construction: foundations to bearings and barriers.
• Supervise tunnel works: excavation, concrete, waterproofing, drainage.
• Review contractor submissions, method statements, shop drawings, test records.
• Monitor progress, quality, and compliance with drawings and specs.
• Coordinate with Contractor, project team, designers, and surveyors to resolve issues.
• Ensure proper documentation and records during construction and closeout.
• Support Project Manager in delivery, risks, and client requirements.
