Job summary

AECOM in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Senior Resident Engineer to lead on a major infrastructure project. The role focuses on supervising bridges, tunnels and roads, coordinating with contractors and authorities, and ensuring QA/QC and contractual compliance on-site.

You will oversee day-to-day construction activities, lead meetings, review shop drawings, and manage interfaces between civil, structural and utilities works while ensuring HSE standards and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Experience in bridge, tunnel, road, infrastructure projects.
• Experience in site supervision and construction management.
• Knowledge of QA/QC, specifications, and contract requirements.
• UAE/GCC infrastructure project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the site supervision team and oversee day-to-day construction activities.
• Supervise and monitor construction works for bridges, tunnels, roads, utilities, and associated infrastructure works.
• Ensure construction works follow approved drawings, specs, method statements, and contract requirements.
• Coordinate with Contractor, Client, Authorities, and stakeholders for smooth project execution.
• Monitor Contractor’s progress, programme, resources, and construction performance.
• Review and coordinate shop drawings, method statements, RFIs, technical submittals, and other project documentation.
• Ensure QA/QC procedures and inspection requirements are properly implemented.
• Identify and resolve technical, construction, and coordination issues promptly.
• Lead site meetings, progress meetings, and technical coordination meetings.
• Monitor project quality, HSE compliance, progress, and contractual requirements.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for proper interface between civil, structural, utilities, and other works.
• Review completed works and ensure testing, inspection, documentation, and handover requirements are fulfilled.
• Provide technical and managerial support to the Project Manager for successful delivery.
