Job summary

AECOM is seeking a highly experienced Chief Resident Engineer to lead construction supervision for a major bridges and infrastructure project in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role requires coordinating with resident engineers, contractors, authorities, and stakeholders to ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance throughout design, construction, and commissioning stages.

The ideal candidate will have 20+ years of civil engineering practice, including 5+ years in senior engineering or construction

Qualifications

• Minimum 20 years of professional civil engineering experience.
• At least 5 years in a senior engineering, resident engineering, or construction management role.
• Experience managing large infrastructure projects with budgets exceeding AED 50 million.
• Professional engineering license or equivalent certification in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Experience supervising multidisciplinary teams and coordinating with authorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction supervision activities for major bridge and infrastructure development projects.
• Provide senior technical oversight throughout feasibility, detailed design, construction management, and commissioning phases.
• Monitor construction activities for compliance with approved designs, specifications, and project requirements.
• Oversee the technical performance and quality of bridge and infrastructure works.
• Coordinate with design teams, contractors, government authorities, and clients to support project delivery.
• Prepare project recommendations and performance information for senior management and clients.
