Job summary

Tanqeeb in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with 10+ years in construction to manage pre/post-contract activities, commercial management, and reporting. The role requires strong contract administration, FIDIC knowledge, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Excel, and ERP systems.

You will coordinate with PMs and site teams to optimize profitability, prepare valuations, handle variations, and ensure accurate cost control from tender through final accounts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
• Experience with main contractors in building construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of contract administration and commercial management.
• Experience with FIDIC contracts, variations, claims, and EOT.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and ERP systems.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
• UAE/GCC experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
• Prepare quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
• Participate in tender evaluation and subcontractor comparisons.
• Assist in budget preparation and cost planning.
• Evaluate commercial risks and opportunities.
• Manage project budgets and monitor project costs.
• Prepare and submit monthly valuations and payment applications.
• Evaluate subcontractor invoices and certify payments.
• Prepare, negotiate, and track variations and change orders.
• Monitor project cash flow and financial performance.
• Prepare cost reports, forecasts, and final accounts.
• Administer contracts according to project requirements.
• Review contractual correspondence and maintain records.
• Identify and notify contractual claims and entitlement.
• Support preparation of EOT and cost claims.
• Ensure compliance with contract conditions, particularly FIDIC-based contracts.
• Conduct value engineering and cost-saving initiatives.
• Analyze project profitability and commercial risks.
• Coordinate with project managers, planning engineers, and site teams.
• Assist management in commercial decision-making.
• Prepare weekly and monthly commercial reports.
• Monitor project cost versus budget.
• Maintain records of variations, claims, and contractual matters.
• Submit final account documentation upon project completion.
