Job summary

A&O Shearman in Dubai is seeking an associate or senior associate for its Project Development & Construction group. The role focuses on EPC/construction contracts, revenue contracts, concessions and other commercial instruments within energy and infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate is a qualified lawyer with 4–8 PQE, experienced in project development, with preference for sponsor-side but lenders and government advisory experience are helpful.

Qualifications

Experience on greenfield project development matters.
Experience advising on lenders, offtakers, governments or contractors is helpful.
Understanding of energy transition sectors and project finance context.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic guidance to clients and lead transactions with market awareness.
Draft, review, amend and negotiate project contracts.
Manage client expectations, deadlines and project delivery.
Collaborate across teams, departments and jurisdictions in a fast-paced environment.
Lead junior team members and supervise workstreams.
Assist with business development and client relationship building.
Engage with clients on deal progress and sector knowledge development.
Support timely billing activities and project profitability.
