Senior Procurement Officer in Dubai, UAE for the Construction industry is a focused MEP procurement opportunity for an experienced purchasing professional with strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing materials, supplier coordination, and construction project requirements. The role supports corporate procurement operations by sourcing quality materials, managing vendors, reviewing specifications, and ensuring timely supply of MEP items required for smooth project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, evaluate, and procure materials required for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing works across construction projects
- Review MEP material specifications, technical requirements, quality standards, and project needs before finalizing procurement actions
- Coordinate with engineering, project, commercial, contracts, finance, and site teams to ensure procurement activities match project timelines
- Identify reliable suppliers, request quotations, compare offers, and support negotiation of pricing, delivery terms, and commercial conditions
- Manage RFQs, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, supplier communication, and procurement documentation
- Ensure MEP materials are procured in line with approved specifications, budgets, quality expectations, and project delivery schedules
- Follow up with vendors and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials to project sites or designated stores
- Maintain supplier records, price comparisons, approval documents, procurement reports, and material tracking updates
- Support vendor evaluation, supplier performance monitoring, and market benchmarking for cost-effective sourcing
- Resolve procurement delays, material availability issues, documentation gaps, and supplier coordination challenges
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, approval procedures, and construction project requirements
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Graduation in any relevant field may be considered with strong practical procurement experience
- 8 years of procurement experience, preferably within MEP or construction projects in the UAE or GCC region
- Strong understanding of MEP materials, systems, specifications, quality standards, and supplier markets
- Experience in sourcing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, construction, and project-related materials
- Good knowledge of RFQs, vendor evaluation, price comparison, negotiation, purchase orders, and procurement documentation
- Ability to coordinate with internal departments, suppliers, contractors, and project stakeholders
- Strong communication, commercial awareness, organization, and follow-up skills
- Able to work under pressure while managing multiple procurement requests and project deadlines
- Previous experience in corporate procurement for a real estate developer, contractor, or construction company will be an advantage
