Job summary

ALFIRAS General Contracting is seeking an experienced Procurement Officer - MEP to join our UAE team in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on end-to-end procurement of MEP materials, from supplier sourcing to delivery, ensuring alignment with project specs and budgets.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's or Diploma in engineering or supply chain, with 5–6 years of UAE MEP procurement experience, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple orders to meet tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• 5–6 years of procurement experience within UAE MEP construction.
• Strong knowledge of UAE MEP suppliers, pricing, and market availability.
• Experience interpreting BOQs and technical submittals.
• Proven supplier negotiations and PO management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement for MEP projects (electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, etc.).
• Source, evaluate, and prequalify suppliers and subcontractors.
• Obtain quotations, prepare comparisons, and negotiate terms.
• Review requisitions, BOQs, specs to ensure accurate purchasing.
• Coordinate with project, engineering, estimation, and commercial teams.
• Follow up on POs, deliveries, and outstanding orders.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality.
• Maintain relationships with UAE suppliers and monitor pricing.
• Ensure procurement complies with budgets and company procedures.
• Maintain procurement records, supplier databases, and tracking reports.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Officer - MEP to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong procurement experience within the UAE construction industry, specifically supporting MEP projects, with a solid understanding of supplier networks, technical specifications, commercial negotiations, and project procurement requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement activities for MEP projects, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and ELV materials and equipment.
• Source, evaluate, and prequalify suppliers and subcontractors based on technical compliance, pricing, quality, delivery timelines, and reliability.
• Obtain and compare quotations, prepare comparative statements, and negotiate competitive prices and commercial terms.
• Review material requisitions, BOQs, technical specifications, and project requirements to ensure accurate and timely purchasing.
• Coordinate with project, engineering, estimation, and commercial teams to ensure compliance with approved material specifications and project budgets.
• Follow up on purchase orders, material approvals, deliveries, and outstanding orders to meet project schedules.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards and project requirements.
• Maintain strong relationships with local UAE suppliers and manufacturers and ensure competitive market pricing.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company procedures, project requirements, and approved budgets.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, purchase orders, and delivery tracking reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 5-6 years of procurement experience within the UAE MEP construction industry is mandatory.
• Proven experience purchasing MEP materials and equipment for construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of UAE MEP suppliers, manufacturers, material availability, and market pricing.
• Experience in supplier negotiations, quotation analysis, cost control, and purchase order management.
• Ability to interpret BOQs, material specifications, and technical submittals.
• Strong communication, coordination, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple project procurement requirements and meet tight deadlines.
