Job summary

A leading global engineering firm seeks a Senior Piping Designer for its UAE Business Unit to support a Major Onshore Brownfield Project. This full-time position includes responsibilities like preparing piping design deliverables and conducting site surveys. Ideal candidates will have 10+ years of relevant experience, strong AutoCAD and PDS skills, and a diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in onshore Oil and Gas Mechanical/Piping design.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, MicroStation; experience with 3D modelling using PDS.
• Knowledge of industry codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Preparation and checking of piping design deliverables including General Arrangement Drawings.
• Conduct onshore site surveys and produce presentations for model reviews.
• Interdisciplinary check of all technical drawings.

Job Description

Wood is recruiting for a Senior Piping Designer to join its UAE Business Unit, focusing on the preparation and checking of all types of Piping or Layout design deliverables for a Major Onshore Brownfield Project in Sharjah, UAE, on a 5/2 work schedule.

This is a full-time, office-based role in Sharjah, UAE, with travel requirements.

Responsibilities

• Preparation and checking of all types of Piping or Layout design deliverables such as General Arrangement Drawings, Mechanical Package Drawings, 3D Models in PDS, Piping Arrangement Drawings, Piping Isometrics, Material Take-Offs, Electrical or Instrument Cable layouts.
• Conduct onshore site surveys in Basra, Iraq.
• Interdisciplinary check of all Civil/Structural/Piping/Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation drawings.
• Review of vendor drawings for Equipment / Package items.
• Produce 2D drawings in AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Assist in the coordination of all activities related to the discipline.
• Preparation of model / constructability review presentations.

Key Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in onshore Oil and Gas Mechanical and/or Piping design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and experience with 3D modelling using PDS.
• Experience with Navisworks and use of Laser Scan Data in PDS environment.
• Understanding of Topographical Surveys and ability to conduct site surveys.
• Knowledge of industry, international, and client Codes and Standards.
• Educational qualification: Diploma or HNC in Mechanical Engineering or relevant subject.
