Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Construction Manager in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates to lead the delivery of a large-scale mixed-use development. The role covers pre-construction planning through handover, with accountability for schedule, budget, quality, resources, and coordination among contractors, architects, engineers, and vendors.

You will implement risk management, ensure compliance with UAE building codes and safety standards, and maintain detailed project documentation and progress

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years of professional construction management experience on large-scale or mixed-use projects.
• Proven experience as a Project Management Consultant or in a similar advisory capacity.
• Strong knowledge of UAE construction codes, regulations, and building standards.
• Demonstrated expertise in project scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.
• Proficiency with Primavera and Microsoft Project.
• Strong leadership and team management capability.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Comprehensive understanding of construction safety standards and risk-management protocols.

Responsibilities

• Oversee mixed-use construction activities from pre-construction planning through final completion and handover.
• Develop and manage comprehensive project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
• Coordinate subcontractors, construction teams, and vendors to support efficient project execution.
• Monitor construction progress against approved timelines and budgets and implement corrective actions when required.
• Ensure compliance with UAE building codes, construction regulations, safety requirements, and applicable environmental standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits to verify compliance with construction specifications and established standards.
• Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, reports, and progress updates for stakeholders.
• Identify and analyze project risks and issues and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
• Manage project communications and facilitate effective collaboration between the parties involved in delivery.
• Review and approve change orders, submittals, and relevant construction documentation.
• Monitor compliance with project health, safety, and environmental protocols.
