Job summary

Dar, the founding member of the Sidara group, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to supervise and coordinate site works for luxury residential and hotel projects in the UAE.

You will review drawings, lead engineers, and collaborate with inspectors to ensure compliance with scope, quality, and safety standards on prestigious developments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 12+ years of engineering experience in luxury residential and/or hotel projects.
  • Experience leading 5-star complex residential or hospitality projects with strong stakeholders and PMC.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising and controlling the execution of site works for Mechanical systems (HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage, Fire protection).
  • Review Mechanical drawings, IFC documents, and ensure completeness and compliance with scope and agreements.
  • Review of Contractor submissions such as materials submittals and method statements; assist approvals of required materials.
  • Coordinate works with other disciplines.
  • Lead/supervise Engineers and Inspectors during construction.
  • Plan and analyze construction methodologies and recommend options to the Project Manager for execution.
  • Interpret drawings and study contract documents and standards before execution.
  • Arrange and attend regular meetings with Clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervising and controlling the execution of site works for Mechanical systems (like HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage, Fire protection systems etc.).
  • Review the Mechanical drawings along with Engineers and Inspectors, Reports & IFC documents provided by the Design Office and ensure completeness, correctness, Compliance with the scope of work and agreements requirements.
  • Review of Contractor’s submissions like Materials Submittals, Subcontractor pre-qualifications, Method Statements, and assist in approvals of required materials.
  • Coordination of works with other disciplines.
  • Lead/Supervise Engineers and Inspectors during construction.
  • Plans and analyses all possible construction methodologies and recommends the best options to the Project Manager for approval prior to execution at site.
  • Interprets construction drawings and studies the contract documents and applicable standards or specifications prior to execution of any jobs.
  • Arrange and attend regular meetings with Clients and other stakeholders, as required in the project.
Requirements :
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • 12+ years of engineering experience or a similar role with a strong background in luxury residential and/or hotel projects.
  • Excellent experiences in leading 5-star complex residential or hospitality projects with complex stakeholders, PMC, packaging strategies, high-end branded buildings in the UAE or the Gulf.
  • Strong understanding of building systems, codes, and regulations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines.
