Job summary

EDGE in Abu Dhabi seeks a highly experienced Chief Technician - Mechanical Design for Halcon to lead mechanical design across airframes and launcher platforms in aerospace and defense projects. You will drive design, analysis, testing support, and lifecycle management while mentoring engineers.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, ensure manufacturability and compliance, and deliver robust solutions. A strong background in CAD, PDM, and engineering analysis is essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma, B.Tech, M.Tech or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in aerospace, defense, guided munitions, aviation, or similar high-technology engineering environments.
• Strong proficiency in CAD systems, Product Data Management (PDM), engineering analysis, and mechanical design methodologies.
• Proven experience in mechanical equipment development, manufacturing support, testing, and performance evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support mechanical design activities throughout the full product lifecycle, from concept development to production and in-service support.
• Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analysis, and design verification using theoretical and simulation-based methods.
• Develop test specifications, procedures, and validation activities to ensure compliance with technical requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to deliver successful programs.
