Job summary

EDGE is seeking an experienced Chief Technician - Mechanical Design for Halcon to lead mechanical design, analysis, testing support, and lifecycle management of airframes and launcher platforms. You will mentor engineers and ensure designs meet performance, manufacturability, and compliance requirements.

You will drive mechanical equipment development, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and suppliers, and contribute to advanced aerospace and defense programs from concept through production

Qualifications

• Diploma, B.Tech, M.Tech, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in aerospace, defense, guided munitions, aviation, or similar high-technology engineering environments.
• Strong proficiency in CAD systems, Product Data Management (PDM), engineering analysis, and mechanical design methodologies.
• Proven experience in mechanical equipment development, manufacturing support, testing, and performance evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support mechanical design activities throughout the full product lifecycle, from concept development to production and in-service support.
• Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analysis, and design verification using theoretical and simulation-based methods.
• Develop test specifications, procedures, and validation activities to ensure compliance with technical requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to deliver successful programs.
