The Senior Manager will shape how automation and AI are applied to complex supply chain challenges across AMET. The position combines supply chain expertise with technical program leadership, AWS cloud technologies, AFT and SCOT knowledge, AI and machine learning, software engineering collaboration, and large-scale process transformation. Rather than deploying technology in isolation, the role will identify high-value operational problems and convert them into measurable automation initiatives. Solutions are expected to generate tangible savings in operating hours or cost while creating capabilities that can scale across the wider supply chain organization.
- Develop and execute a long-term automation and AI strategy aligned with Amazon's supply chain priorities.
- Identify high-impact opportunities across planning, warehousing, transportation, fulfillment, and related supply chain processes.
- Build an annual roadmap of complex technology projects addressing important operational and customer challenges.
- Drive automation and AI initiatives through structured sprint mechanisms with clearly defined savings, efficiency, or performance targets.
- Lead the complete lifecycle of AWS and SCOT-powered projects from ideation and requirements definition through implementation, release, and post-launch support.
- Translate operational problems into functional requirements, technical specifications, project milestones, and measurable success criteria.
- Partner directly with software engineering teams to design and implement scalable automation solutions.
- Evaluate AWS technologies and select appropriate services according to technical, operational, and business requirements.
- Explore AI and machine learning applications using Amazon SageMaker, Amazon Comprehend, Amazon Rekognition, and other relevant technologies.
- Apply AWS Lambda, Amazon S3, Amazon EC2, and related cloud services when developing automation architectures.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, supply chain, product, analytics, and other stakeholders to integrate new capabilities into existing systems.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, quality, dependencies, critical paths, and implementation risks.
- Coordinate software releases and establish sustainable processes for complex cross-functional programs.
- Define KPIs and SLAs that demonstrate operational performance, financial impact, and program effectiveness.
- Maintain program dashboards, critical P0 priorities, delivery milestones, and executive-level performance visibility.
- Produce monthly program updates covering progress, savings, risks, dependencies, and upcoming priorities.
- Monitor deployed solutions and use performance data to identify opportunities for further optimization.
- Build AI and automation capability among senior supply chain leaders and specialists through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and practical guidance.
- Develop scalable processes that expand the core team's ability to support automation programs across the organization.
- Manage external technology and automation vendors, including commercial discussions, delivery performance, and solution quality.
- Drive continuous improvement using analytics, Lean principles, operational feedback, and lessons from completed implementations.
Candidates should hold a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline, with a master's degree in a relevant field considered advantageous. The role requires at least seven years of supply chain operations experience with meaningful exposure to automation, along with demonstrated success delivering complex technology initiatives. Strong understanding of planning, warehousing, transportation, and fulfillment processes is important. Relevant technical experience includes five or more years in technical product or program management, seven or more years working directly with engineering teams, and at least three years of software development exposure. Candidates should also bring substantial technical program management experience working directly with software engineering organizations. Practical knowledge of AWS cloud services such as EC2, S3, and Lambda is required, while experience with SageMaker, Comprehend, Rekognition, QuickSight, and other AWS AI and analytics services is highly valuable. The strongest profile will combine technical depth with leadership, commercial judgment, project discipline, and the ability to communicate complex initiatives to senior stakeholders. AWS professional certifications, Lean methodology experience, and knowledge of Amazon supply chain systems are additional advantages.
