Role Context
The Senior Manager will lead the development of automation and artificial intelligence capabilities across Amazon 's AMET supply chain organization. The position connects operational challenges with engineering, cloud technology, analytics, and technical program execution to create solutions that reduce manual effort, lower cost, and improve supply chain performance. A central responsibility will be building an annual roadmap for complex automation initiatives and moving ideas from concept through sprint-based development, implementation, measurement, and continuous improvement. The role will draw on Amazon Web Services, SCOT technologies, AFT knowledge, software engineering practices, and AI and machine learning services to solve high-value supply chain problems. Beyond individual projects, the Senior Manager will build broader organizational capability by mentoring supply chain leaders and specialists, establishing repeatable processes, maintaining program governance, and ensuring senior leadership has clear visibility into progress, risks, savings, and operational impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive supply chain automation and AI strategy for AMET operations.
- Align automation priorities with broader supply chain objectives, customer requirements, and financial targets.
- Identify high-value opportunities across planning, warehousing, transportation, and fulfillment.
- Build an annual roadmap covering complex automation and artificial intelligence initiatives.
- Prioritize projects according to operational impact, cost savings, scalability, and implementation feasibility.
- Define measurable success criteria for each program, including savings in labor hours, cost, productivity, or service performance.
- Drive automation and AI ideas through structured sprint mechanisms.
- Lead projects from ideation and requirements gathering through development, deployment, and post-launch support.
- Manage technical program scope, schedules, budgets, resources, dependencies, and risks.
- Coordinate release schedules across engineering and cross-functional teams.
- Maintain strong governance for critical milestones and P0 priorities.
- Build and maintain program dashboards covering roadmap progress, delivery health, savings, risks, and key performance indicators.
- Produce monthly program updates for senior leadership.
- Work directly with software engineering teams to translate supply chain problems into scalable technical solutions.
- Develop functional requirements and support preparation of technical specifications.
- Oversee integration of automation solutions within the AWS ecosystem.
- Evaluate AWS technologies according to specific supply chain use cases.
- Assess Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, AWS Lambda, and related cloud services for automation requirements.
- Evaluate AI and machine learning capabilities including Amazon SageMaker, Amazon Comprehend, and Amazon Rekognition.
- Identify opportunities where artificial intelligence can reduce repetitive work or improve operational decision-making.
- Apply SCOT and AFT knowledge when developing solutions for Amazon supply chain processes.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, analytics, product, and program stakeholders.
- Build sustainable mechanisms for managing technical programs across several functional teams.
- Define KPIs and SLAs used to evaluate performance and business impact.
- Monitor implemented solutions and identify additional opportunities for optimization.
- Use analytics to determine whether deployed automation delivers expected benefits.
- Establish continuous improvement mechanisms for mature automation solutions.
- Build automation capability among senior supply chain leaders and specialists.
- Mentor stakeholders on effective use of AWS, SCOT, AI and automation technologies.
- Promote scalable design principles rather than isolated manual fixes.

Ideal Profile
- Bachelor 's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in supply chain operations with substantial exposure to automation.
- At least 5 years of technical product or program management experience.
- At least 7 years of experience working directly with engineering teams.
- Minimum 3 years of software development experience.
- At least 5 years of technical program management experience working directly with software engineering teams.
- Proven experience leading complex automation projects from concept through implementation.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain planning, transportation, warehousing, and fulfillment.
- Practical experience with AWS cloud technologies.
- Strong understanding of Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, AWS Lambda, or comparable cloud services.
- Experience coordinating technical releases across multiple teams.
- Strong project management capability covering scope, schedules, resources, budgets, risk, and critical paths.
- Ability to develop scalable processes for cross-functional programs.
- Experience defining KPIs or SLAs used to manage large business operations.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to senior operational and business leaders.

- Master 's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
