Overview
Amazon is looking for an experienced Program Manager to lead transportation capacity‑planning initiatives across the AMET logistics network. The role focuses on transport capacity, fulfillment network expansion, site readiness, and cross‑functional program execution, including delivery stations, sort centers, and new logistics locations.
Estimated salary: 18,000 – 28,000 AED per month.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the transportation capacity‑planning charter for delivery stations and sort centers.
- Manage capacity performance metrics, reporting standards, and regional planning reviews.
- Collect operational data from multiple internal sources and validate information quality.
- Analyze current and projected demand against available network capacity.
- Identify capacity constraints, operational risks, and potential service interruptions.
- Recommend practical and cost‑effective solutions based on analytical findings.
- Build detailed action plans and coordinate execution with responsible stakeholders.
- Support transportation operations teams across AMET with capacity analysis and planning.
- Work with supply chain stakeholders to deliver approved capacity expansions.
- Forecast the implications of future volume requirements across the regional AMZL network.
- Develop innovative storage, processing, and space‑utilization solutions.
- Evaluate temporary and permanent capacity options based on cost, timing, and operational impact.
- Conduct regular site audits to verify compliance with capacity‑planning standards.
- Review operational conformance, storage norms, workflows, and standard operating practices.
- Document audit findings and track corrective actions through completion.
- Partner with engineering design teams during station and sort center planning.
- Ensure required operational and capacity inputs are included in facility designs.
- Coordinate with site‑launch teams to support readiness for new logistics locations.
- Drive critical projects that increase network capacity and improve space utilization.
- Lead bin‑slotting optimization and related operational improvement initiatives.
- Manage special regional projects aligned with transportation and fulfillment goals.
- Support low‑cost storage programs and alternative capacity models.
- Coordinate new same‑day delivery site launches and pop‑up delivery partner facilities.
- Support the implementation of regional distribution centers and other network solutions.
- Define project scope, objectives, requirements, milestones, and resource needs.
- Develop integrated project schedules and manage dependencies across teams.
- Identify schedule risks early and implement appropriate mitigation plans.
- Track project status, budget implications, decisions, risks, and unresolved issues.
- Communicate program progress and material changes to senior management.
- Prepare executive updates, analytical reports, and decision‑support presentations.
- Collaborate with technical and non‑technical teams across different functions.
- Influence internal and external stakeholders to secure timely project decisions.
- Use data and performance metrics to define and measure process improvements.
- Solve complex operational problems in a rapidly changing and ambiguous environment.
- Standardize successful capacity‑planning practices across the regional network.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 3 years of program or project management experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working cross‑functionally with technical and non‑technical teams.
- At least 3 years of experience defining and implementing data‑driven process improvements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage strategic and operational projects from planning through delivery.
- Experience defining program requirements, objectives, and measurable outcomes.
- Strong analytical capability and confidence working with complex operational datasets.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.
- Working knowledge of SQL for data extraction and analysis.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of operational tradeoffs.
- Ability to build project plans, schedules, governance processes, and reporting structures.
- Experience identifying project risks and coordinating mitigation activities.
- Strong stakeholder‑management skills across different organizational levels.
- Ability to influence teams without relying on direct authority.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence presenting program status and recommendations to senior leadership.
