Job Description
Purpose of the Job: To drive a proactive culture of learning and continuous improvement within Masdar, ensuring that our people are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain a safe and secure work environment where we cause no harm to people, the environment, or our assets.
- To develop and implement learning and communications processes for QHSE towards promoting and reinforcing learnings and good practices across the company to enhance understanding and engagement.
- To support in developing and implementing strategies for QHSE that drive growth, improve efficiency, and enhance overall performance, working closely with the Head of QHSE to identify areas for improvement and create a roadmap for achieving organizational objectives.
- To work closely with cross-functional teams across Masdar to ensure that QHSE strategies are aligned with the company's overall vision and objectives.
Job Requirements
- Strategic plans and initiatives: Support and implement strategic plans and initiatives related to QHSE learning and continuous improvement that align with the organization's goals and objectives to improve overall performance.
- Transformational change: Facilitate transformational change programs related to QHSE to drive adoption of new processes, systems, and behaviours.
- Monitoring and adjustment: Monitor and measure the effectiveness of strategic initiatives and make adjustments as needed.
- Stakeholder relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of strategic initiatives, department communications and engagement.
- Thought leadership: Provide thought leadership and guidance to senior executives and stakeholders on industry trends and best practices.
- Internal communications: Align with internal communications to agree on annual department communications plan and contribute QHSE stories/content to internal news feeds.
- Internal plans and training: Develop and implement QHSE-specific internal communication plans to drive a safety culture, define objectives, metrics, stakeholders, and align to business needs for Quality, Health, Safety and Environment.
- Delivery and budgets: Manage and prioritize multiple projects and initiatives, ensuring delivery within agreed timelines and budgets.
- Continuous improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives by leading efforts to identify and implement QHSE opportunities, including analysing performance metrics, conducting audits, leading incident investigations, conducting safety culture surveys, and engaging with stakeholders to identify areas for improvement.
- Strategy implementation: Develop and implement strategies to enhance QHSE performance, reduce risks, and drive operational excellence.
- Incident investigations: Ensure that incident investigation processes and procedures are in place for meaningful investigations to uncover root causes and lessons learned.
- Training programs: Design and implement comprehensive training programs to enhance QHSE knowledge and skills, including identifying training needs, creating content, and delivering effective training sessions to promote continuous improvement.
- Guidance and collaboration: Provide guidance and support to all levels of the organization on all matters related to QHSE, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure QHSE requirements are met.
Qualifications
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Risk or QHSE, or related field (preferred).
- Preferred Experience: 10 years of experience in corporate QHSE, strategy development, transformational change management, performance, or related fields in large multinational companies or equivalent experience.
- Job-Specific Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills leading to a consultative approach within a corporate/multifunctional environment; strong analytical, strategic thinking, and project management skills; strong business process management experience; demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive change; experience in a management consulting or corporate strategy role is preferred; ability to challenge ideas and norms with thoughtful arguments.
