Job summary

Wood is actively seeking a highly experienced PMC Senior Construction Engineer (I&C) for a site-based role in Abu Dhabi, joining the ADNOC Gas PMC team within Wood’s Oil, Gas & New Energies business. The role focuses on coordinating and delivering complex mechanical and I&C construction activities to meet budget, schedule and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Instrument or Control or equivalent from an accredited university; minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant experience in offshore/onshore Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry, including five (5) years in GCC region.
• Must have at least five (5) years of experience in a similar position for international major Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills (written and verbal) and an ability to work with people across a diversity of cultures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction and contractor-related mechanical deliverables, ensuring compliance with project requirements and specifications.
• Supervise mechanical works across all areas on small projects or specific mechanical disciplines on larger projects.
• Manage and execute multiple mechanical-related field disciplines or assigned subsets of construction projects in line with contract requirements and company policies.
• Ensure all mechanical activities are executed according to quality standards, codes, and project specifications.
• Control project cost and schedule for assigned mechanical disciplines and ensure timely completion of mechanical works.
• Manage installation, testing, commissioning, and completion activities for mechanical systems and associated equipment.
• Coordinate work schedules for mechanical personnel to maximize utilization and meet project timelines.
• Monitor mechanical work progress and report status against the approved plan.
• Define and communicate safety, quality, and environmental responsibilities to all personnel involved in mechanical operations.
• Ensure all mechanical personnel receive appropriate training, including health and safety and site-specific inductions.
